conversation at a tim horton's drive-thru window

Me: (pulls up to drive-thru window with van window open. stops)

Cashier:
(opens drive-thru window. looks at me expectantly)

(crickets)

Me: (hands exact change to cashier curiously)

Cashier:
(takes money and rings it in. hands me 2 cups of coffee)

Me:
(takes coffee and places them in cupholders. turns back and looks at cashier expectantly)

Cashier:
(looks back at me with dumbfounded expression)

(crickets)

Me: (drives away)

Ha! Wait...I take it you ordered the coffee back at the little intercom thing? (This city girl doesn't know from drive-throughs.)

Or...you're a regular and you get 2 coffees all the time.

Or...you're communicating telepathically.

Regardless, great wordless scene.

Yeah....you place your order at the speaker a ways back. However, usually you'll get a "Hi...that's $2.69" or something when you pull up to the window. Or a "Here you go....thanks, come again.", when you leave. In this case....just awkward silence. Customer service is taking a dive, methinks. :P
